Setting Out to Fight Hunger

What We DoGet Involved

PORCH Wake Forest is a local non-profit organization under the umbrella of PORCH Communities, an all volunteer, grassroots hunger relief organization. We collect food through monthly neighborhood food drives and distribute donations to feed food insecure children in our community. Monthly Drives provide an ongoing and stable supply of food to pantries and program participants. Anyone can help by donating, collecting, sorting, distributing, or organizing volunteers in as little as a few hours a month.

Daniel Simon, Ariana Simon, Dylan Koliander and Devin Koliander co-founded PORCH – Wake Forest in March 2021 as an ongoing response to community need. We are partnering with North East Wake Backpack Buddies which provides weekend meals to children in our community who would otherwise go hungry. The students North East Wake Backpack Buddies serves are identified as food insecure by their schools and get free or reduced meals at school. NEW backpack Buddies goal is to feed these kids over the weekend.
