About PORCH
The Bluffs - Brunswick
PORCH The Bluffs Brunswick is an an all-volunteer hunger relief organization that connects neighbors to fight local hunger. Through monthly neighborhood food drive, we collect food and cash donations to help keep pantry shelves stocked year-round — providing consistent support for individuals and families facing food insecurity in our community.
Established in September 2022, we run volunteer-led monthly neighborhood food drives on the third Tuesday of every month. Donations are delivered to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, an emergency food pantry for hungry residents of Brunswick and New Hanover counties. The food pantry is a critical lifeline for low-income families forced to make difficult trade-offs in medication or healthcare to adequately feed their families. Clients are served and educated about nutrition without regard to race or religion, and with care to preserve their dignity.
Each PORCH is part of PORCH Communities, a national movement empowering neighbors to fight hunger through local action.
